More cherry blossoms taken at Robarts Library in Toronto. Something about this lighting was just downright magical! It was that kind of lighting that did all the editing and adjusting for you. I also took videos of these pretty flowers and posted them to my Reels on Instagram, so go check them out!

Cherry Blossoms at Edwards Gardens on April 19th, 2021.

Some pretty cherry blossoms at Toronto’s Edwards Gardens. Yet another place I wasn’t aware had cherry blossoms! Cherry blossoms are my favourite flower and I’m so glad there are many places to find them in Toronto.

Cherry Blossoms on April 19th, 2021.

More cherry blossoms! When visiting the day before, there were some spots I wanted to photograph but it was a little crowded. So instead, we came back the very next morning. I’m super happy we did as there were little to no people there and the sunlight added some vibrancy to the scene. The blossoms were so pink!

Cherry Blossoms on April 18th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

Cherry blossoms are finally blooming! While visiting grandparents at the cemetery, my family noticed that there were several cherry blossom trees littered throughout the area. Strange how I’d never noticed them all these years. Granted, I feel like most Torontonians only see High Park as their cherry blossom central. With things being the way they are this year and last, many of us had to look to other places to get our Sakura fix. I know that personally, I had never looked into other areas in the city with cherry blossoms as I’d always head over to High Park in the past. While it is open to visitors this year (albeit being fenced off), I personally wasn’t about to brave the more than likely huge crowds vying for a chance to take a peek through the fences.

It had just rained a little, and the sky was still cloudy, so the lighting couldn’t have been better! I always love overcast lighting when shooting flowers or trees outdoors as it is effortless and beautiful diffused lighting. This was a really good photography day for me! It was also nice to just stand underneath the trees, breathe deep, and to relax for a small moment.

Sunset on March 5th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

Another brilliant Toronto sunset. Sunsets like these near the end of winter feel like a light at the end of the tunnel. I personally don’t mind winter and I love the photographic opportunities, but by the end, it really starts to eat away at me. I look forward to the longer days and the sunsets at 8 or 9pm. We still have a little while longer to go but with vivid skies like these, the wait feels a little easier.

Infrared Edit Series #1

Digital, 2020.

I recently fell back in love with infrared photography. While these are edits made in Photoshop and don’t quite look like the real thing, I had a blast going through old photos and picking out which ones I thought would look best with this particular edit. I’m in the market for a new camera but now, I definitely want to venture out and do some research on infrared modified cameras!
