An intense and vibrant sunset from the beginning of May. The clouds turned yellow and then orange and I was able to capture some stunning shots of the Toronto skyline and the surrounding areas.
I am not quite sure what flowers these are but if I see pretty flowers, I take a photo. The cloudy sky provides a nice contrast against the dark purple blossoms.
Some French lilac flowers blooming in our backyard! Right at this moment, lilac season is already over. I thought they would be around all summer but that just goes to show how little I know about flower seasons. Also, did you know you could make lilac lemonade?? Because I sure didn’t! I’m hoping I remember this for next spring.
I brought my camera with me during an evening walk and snapped some photos of these blossoms. I usually prefer warm tones to go along with my flower photography but in this case, I loved how the cooler purple and blue colouring makes these images seem magical and ethereal.
More cherry blossoms at Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto! The sky was very cloudy but the park was quiet. The cherry blossoms were fenced off so I had to improvise and take photos through the fencing. Here’s hoping next year we’ll be able to experience the blossoms here a little closer.
Cherry blossoms are finally blooming! While visiting grandparents at the cemetery, my family noticed that there were several cherry blossom trees littered throughout the area. Strange how I’d never noticed them all these years. Granted, I feel like most Torontonians only see High Park as their cherry blossom central. With things being the way they are this year and last, many of us had to look to other places to get our Sakura fix. I know that personally, I had never looked into other areas in the city with cherry blossoms as I’d always head over to High Park in the past. While it is open to visitors this year (albeit being fenced off), I personally wasn’t about to brave the more than likely huge crowds vying for a chance to take a peek through the fences.
It had just rained a little, and the sky was still cloudy, so the lighting couldn’t have been better! I always love overcast lighting when shooting flowers or trees outdoors as it is effortless and beautiful diffused lighting. This was a really good photography day for me! It was also nice to just stand underneath the trees, breathe deep, and to relax for a small moment.
