The mute swans in the first photo were not happy with my presence whereas the trumpeter swan was at ease. The contrast in their feather fluffiness is so amusing to me. The trumpeter swan (and I) have been at this spot a lot longer but these mute swans think they run the show!
In the second photo, I was trying to take a photo of the swan’s ID band on her ankle. Since I was taking photos at a low angle, I couldn’t see what exactly I was capturing. I just went for it and kept snapping. When looking back at the images, I liked this one from a photographic standpoint and decided to keep it.
A trumpeter swan spreading her wings on Lake Ontario. These are some of my most favourite photos that I’ve taken. The lighting was beautiful on this afternoon and this gal here was the most perfect model. And to think I almost didn’t bring my camera!
Swans frolicking in the winter sun by Lake Ontario. The last image is my favourite in this set. The translucency in the swan’s wings is so beautiful and elegant.
A collection of images taken during a winter afternoon of a calm Lake Ontario as seen through the trees. Due to the partially frozen lake and still waters, some shots could almost pass as long exposures!
