This was such a brilliant sunset that I continue to think about months later. I knew I should have trusted my gut when I saw the clouds earlier on along with the fact that there were thunderstorms that afternoon. I regret missing out on capturing that rainbow in its entirety. Had I trusted myself, I would have had time to go to my spot by the lake to photograph the rainbow. Instead, I had to settle for a shadow of what could have been as it started to fade.

Mute swans and swans in general tend to be pretty territorial. Knowing this, I still thought it was quite amusing to see this adult male going up against a group of Canada geese. He was okay as long as they stayed out of the water. Seeing as they’re following his desires, it’s easy to see who really runs the show.
I can’t believe I was able to get so close to this guy or gal. They were chomping away at some branches and didn’t seem to mind my being there. Even so, I kept my distance as this was my first time seeing a beaver up close and wasn’t familiar with their behaviour.
