Intense summer sunsets are the best kinds of summer sunsets. The last two photos were taken five minutes apart and I love seeing how sunsets can change in such a short amount of time.
I’ve lived in Toronto all my life and yet I’ve never heard of the Toronto Music Gardens. I’ve seen photos taken there but I never questioned where they were taken. We decided to head down one weekend and I was amazed at how gorgeous the whole space was. When exploring the flower gardens, I loved seeing all these pretty flowers close up, especially allium!
I didn’t get more shots of the main space as we went on the weekend and it was pretty busy and I prefer not having any people in my shots. For that, it’s best to visit on a weekday, which we eventually did. Those photos will be up soon!
Another “I’m really glad I had my camera on me” moment. It was raining on and off and I thought the lighting made everything look bright and well lit. You know those harsh shadows when it’s very sunny? This was the complete opposite of that. I thought this garden looked very surreal in this overcast light. Something about these flowers with the occasional water droplet just tugged at something in me.
A summer day spent at Edwards Gardens. A majority of the gardens were under construction so unfortunately, I couldn’t get the photos I was looking forward to taking. Instead, I took photos of flowers that caught my eye. Hopefully the gardens will fully open up again soon!
A water fountain taken during blue hour in Toronto. The calm waves were so captivating to watch in person. I couldn’t resist taking a video to post to my Reels on Instagram!
Nothing beats summer days by the lake. The air is cooler, the atmosphere is calmer, and the views are spectacular. I was amazed at how clear the water looked that day. I could have watched the gentle waves moving over the stones underwater all day. Sadly, I could not but I made sure to take photos!
This is an example of the type of sunset I look forward to every summer! One that’s bright, vivid, and gets the whole city talking. These two images were taken exactly 5 minutes apart. I couldn’t choose between one or the other so I kept them both. One of my favourite things about sunsets like these is how their colour and cloud formations change.
I really loved the way the sun looked as it set over the lake. I really wanted a starburst effect so I shot this image at f/22 and 1/1600 sec to achieve it. I love sunsets of all kinds but you have to admit that ones by the water are truly special.
I brought my camera with me to the cemetery and found a bunch of lovely flowers to photograph. We usually associate flowers with spring but there are definitely some gorgeous ones that pop up in the summer!
