My third visit to Rouge River, a week after the last one. This time it was super sunny which allowed me to get some bright shots of the autumn leaves.

After visiting grandparents at the cemetery, I really enjoy walking around and taking photos whenever I can. My favourite lighting is either golden hour or overcast skies. In the later afternoons, it’s usually quiet and it’s very grounding being surrounded by nature.
The flowers belonged to a woman who passed away a few years ago. It was her birthday on that very day and friends or family left her flowers with well wishes. I don’t know this woman but it moved me knowing that years later, she has people that still drop by to give her a present. After snapping the photos, thanked her for letting me, wished her happy birthday, and continued on my walk.

When fluffy summer clouds turn into intense summer sunsets.

One of the best feelings as a self proclaimed nature photographer is when you look at the sky just before sunset and you just know that it’s going to light up in brilliant reds and oranges. And the cherry on top? When it actually does!

Out of all the sunset shots, I only kept this one to be edited. I almost didn’t but I thought that cloud was too cute. It reminds me of two things: a helicopter and Flounder from The Little Mermaid.

I got a call from a friend telling me to go outside if I could. She saw that the sky was turning into a brilliant sunset and had to let me know in case I was missing it. Funny thing is, I was! I appreciate the people that let me know when something is happening sky-wise! I wasn’t able to head off to my usual haunts but I’m happy I still got something.

Some pretty red flowers covered by the one of the season’s first snowfalls.

The cemetery is one of my go to places to take photos of autumn foliage. Surrounded by trees, it’s hard not to find one that isn’t covered by red and orange leaves. If you’re ever lucky to be here during golden hour, it sure is a treat on the eyes!
