A full moon in a clear night sky in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The second photo was purely a happy accident. The clouds passing by the moon caused a halo of colour around it that was absolutely beautiful. In my rush to capture the photo before the clouds fully passed by, I didn’t adjust my camera settings well enough and ended up photographing a long exposure instead. When I saw the shot on the viewfinder, I was stunned at how ethereal it looked.
This was such a brilliant sunset that I continue to think about months later. I knew I should have trusted my gut when I saw the clouds earlier on along with the fact that there were thunderstorms that afternoon. I regret missing out on capturing that rainbow in its entirety. Had I trusted myself, I would have had time to go to my spot by the lake to photograph the rainbow. Instead, I had to settle for a shadow of what could have been as it started to fade.
I’ve never seen a rainbow over the lake quite like this before. Sometimes, you really just have to be at the right place at the right time. We drove down to the lake for some fresh air and ended up finding a rainbow instead! Looks like there’s a pot of gold right across the lake, too!
