I took a photo of this bare plant by the lake and when editing, I wanted to play around with the colours. I got to this hazy pink version and liked the way it looked so I kept it as the final version.
Another “I’m really glad I had my camera on me” moment. It was raining on and off and I thought the lighting made everything look bright and well lit. You know those harsh shadows when it’s very sunny? This was the complete opposite of that. I thought this garden looked very surreal in this overcast light. Something about these flowers with the occasional water droplet just tugged at something in me.
Close up photos of pine needles during spring. I debated on what colour scheme I should go for for this set and ultimately decided on a cool aqua tone instead of a warm green one (what they actually looked like). I wanted to experiment with colour a bit and I really like the way these turned out!
An intense and vibrant sunset from the beginning of May. The clouds turned yellow and then orange and I was able to capture some stunning shots of the Toronto skyline and the surrounding areas.
Another Toronto snowfall! Getting photos of when the snow is freshly fallen is really something special. Undisturbed and with no tracks, the scene always looks so calm and peaceful.
These photos were taken on the same day as my previous post but I felt that they didn’t belong in that group and instead deserved their own post. These colours act like a placeholder for what winter may bring!
The last cemetery visit of summer 2020. Whenever we visit family, I always like to walk around with my camera and take photos of whatever catches my eye, even if I’ve captured it before. Recently, I’ve been drawn to those lantern decorations. Soon, it’ll be the foliage. One thing I found particularly interesting was in the 9th image. I have no explanation for it. Solar flares I would understand if there was more daylight but it almost looks like teal smoke. I wonder if something of the supernatural variety was dying (pun not intended) to be the subject of a photo. A few steps further and it was a steep drop. Perhaps it was a warning to be careful.
Either way, I’m excited for the photos I’ll be able to take during autumn! Hopefully, I’ll be able to get more moody forest photos but with a lot more orange and a lot less green!
Niagara-on-the-Lake! One of my favourite places to be! It’s so quaint and quiet and always feels like a refresh for the soul. I’ve only ever been during the spring and summer but wish to visit during autumn or winter one day!
