Swans and a Purple-Pink Winter Landscape on January 15th, 2022.

Digital, 2022.

When it comes to getting the right photograph, sometimes you have to be at the right place at the right time. This was one of those instances. The sun was starting to set and I was so excited at the possibility of seeing a beautiful sunset while here. The lighting began to turn a lovely purple-pink colour and with the reflections on the blue ice, the scene looked magical. When I looked off to the side, I noticed a group of four swans swimming to the icy shore. They kept coming closer and I kept taking photos. Eventually, they swam off to the side but I was extremely happy and eager to get home to see the outcome of my shots.

A Purple and Pink Sunset on January 2nd, 2022.

Digital, 2022.

A soft purple and pink sunset overlooking a snowy Cherry Beach. When the sky started to light up pink and purple, I was hoping for a more intense sunset as I really loved this landscape. I wanted a vibrant sky to be reflected in the calm water below. Alas, that didn’t happen but I’m still happy with how serene and peaceful this photo turned out.

Pink Peonies on June 5th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

Here are some beautiful peonies from the backyard. After getting shots of them as is, I wanted to play around with water droplets on their petals. So for that, I filled a spray bottle with water and ventured back into the backyard. I sprayed water around four or five times with a fine mist for the desired effect. Too much and the water droplets pooled together and fell right off the petal. I’m quite happy with the results!

Pink Flowers in the Trees on May 14th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

Some gorgeous pink flowers blooming in the trees. I’m not sure what kinds of flowers these are but they’re gorgeous! I always love when I find things to take photos of when I have my camera with me, it’s like it’s photographer’s luck. I passed by this tree a week to two weeks later and sadly, all the blooms were gone. I love spring for all the beauty it gives us but it really doesn’t last.

Cherry Blossoms on Mother’s Day, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

These photos are the reason why I always bring my camera with me whenever I go to the cemetery. Surrounded by nature, you never know what you’re going to see. For example, on this day, I was not expecting to step out of the car and see pink where I wasn’t anticipating it. I had no clue that this tree was a cherry blossom tree so you can imagine my shock and excitement upon seeing it. The cherry blossoms in other places in Toronto (including the ones I photographed at this location) I had visited previously already withered a while back. Cherry blossoms only last around a week so be sure to act quickly if you want to enjoy them and take photos.

These are truly my last cherry blossom photos of 2021 and I miss them already. I can’t wait to be blessed by the pink flowers again next year!

Cherry Blossoms at Trinity Bellwoods Park on April 21st, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

More cherry blossoms at Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto! The sky was very cloudy but the park was quiet. The cherry blossoms were fenced off so I had to improvise and take photos through the fencing. Here’s hoping next year we’ll be able to experience the blossoms here a little closer.
