A pink, hazy sunset. I wanted to catch a glimpse of the sun but I didn’t make it in time. I believe the sky was hazy due to the smoke from the California wildfires making its way up to us.

Cemetery on September 13th, 2020.

The last cemetery visit of summer 2020. Whenever we visit family, I always like to walk around with my camera and take photos of whatever catches my eye, even if I’ve captured it before. Recently, I’ve been drawn to those lantern decorations. Soon, it’ll be the foliage. One thing I found particularly interesting was in the 9th image. I have no explanation for it. Solar flares I would understand if there was more daylight but it almost looks like teal smoke. I wonder if something of the supernatural variety was dying (pun not intended) to be the subject of a photo. A few steps further and it was a steep drop. Perhaps it was a warning to be careful.
Either way, I’m excited for the photos I’ll be able to take during autumn! Hopefully, I’ll be able to get more moody forest photos but with a lot more orange and a lot less green!

This was my first time visiting Woodbine Park. Born and raised in Toronto, I can’t believe I haven’t visited here before. The skyline was in full view and even though the sky didn’t light up the way I thought it would, I still really love the way the shots came out. I can’t wait to come back and visit when a more promising sunset is on the horizon.

Photos of the sky lighting up across Riverdale Park. I just love when you get that feeling that you’re going to get a crazy sky and Mother Nature decides to give one to you. It’s not something that always happens so I’m happy whenever it does!
Cemetery on August 30th, 2020.

After visiting grandparents at the cemetery, I really enjoy walking around and taking photos whenever I can. My favourite lighting is either golden hour or overcast skies. In the later afternoons, it’s usually quiet and it’s very grounding being surrounded by nature.
The flowers belonged to a woman who passed away a few years ago. It was her birthday on that very day and friends or family left her flowers with well wishes. I don’t know this woman but it moved me knowing that years later, she has people that still drop by to give her a present. After snapping the photos, thanked her for letting me, wished her happy birthday, and continued on my walk.

Flowers taken during a cemetery visit. A week later, the yellow flowers were nowhere to be found! They were completely uprooted. Made me glad I got photos just in time.

One of my favourite sunsets to date! We had rainy weather and crazy storm clouds in the afternoon and a gorgeous, vivid sunset in the evening. Couldn’t have asked for more!

When I noticed these intense storm clouds moving in, I had to get my camera and go straight into the backyard to get some photos. You could feel it in the air that something was coming. The clouds were moving quick and showing some rotation. Luckily it didn’t manifest into anything more and all we got was just a downpour of rain.

We had an intense golden hour this afternoon and I just had a feeling it would translate into a memorable sunset. The sky went from yellow to orange to red in the span of a few minutes.
