One of the best feelings as a self proclaimed nature photographer is when you look at the sky just before sunset and you just know that it’s going to light up in brilliant reds and oranges. And the cherry on top? When it actually does!

Some days, there isn’t enough time for me to leave to head off to my usual spots. Luckily, there are some good vantage points right in the backyard. I’m really going to miss these summer sunsets once winter rolls around.

Out of all the sunset shots, I only kept this one to be edited. I almost didn’t but I thought that cloud was too cute. It reminds me of two things: a helicopter and Flounder from The Little Mermaid.

I got a call from a friend telling me to go outside if I could. She saw that the sky was turning into a brilliant sunset and had to let me know in case I was missing it. Funny thing is, I was! I appreciate the people that let me know when something is happening sky-wise! I wasn’t able to head off to my usual haunts but I’m happy I still got something.

The day before, we had a lot of rainfall to the point where it flooded the beach. It resulted in such a surreal look where you would have sand and water alternating until you finally got to the lake. This resulted in interesting sunset shots due to the reflections in the water.
