Frozen Sunset on February 11th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

As a self proclaimed sunset chaser, I knew I had to go down to the pier and get some shots of the sunset while the lake was still frozen. Did we get that brilliant, the sky is on fire type of sunset? Sadly no, but in this case, I’m not picky at all. The reflection of the sky and sun in the frozen lake was just gorgeous. I feel like even the most “boring” types of sunsets would look stunning against this backdrop.

Blue Skies and Bare Trees on February 4th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

The combination of blue skies at twilight and the tops of bare trees have always fascinated me. Summer, winter, any season, it always feels so dreamy going for a walk and looking up seeing the branches against the clear sky. This attachment also stems from the fact that this is a common occurrence in my actual dreams so seeing it in real life often feels otherworldly to me. These are simpler photos than what I usually capture but I’m still happy I had my camera with me on this walk. Sometimes it’s the simple moments that help pull us through.

Moody Toronto Skyline on December 12th, 2020.

Digital, 2020.

Just my luck that when I am able to venture out in hopes of a sunset, I’m greeted with a scene like this. It couldn’t be more of a rejection from Mother Nature. The Toronto skyline really does look so very different without the CN Tower and with so many skyscrapers being covered by fog. To a Torontonian, scenes like this always look like something from out of a dream.

Sunset on December 10th, 2020.

Digital, 2020.

I haven’t been able to photograph a good sunset in a while. This was mostly due to missing them because of the sun setting way too early and not being able to get to my prime locations in time. Even here, I’m not so pleased that I realized the sky was erupting so late but I’m glad I was able to capture it regardless.

Sunset on September 19th, 2020.

Digital, 2020.

The last intense sunset of summer. It was such a joy watching the sky go from a light wash of orange to just something totally brilliant. And even then, the clouds changed from a vivid orange to a stunning red/purple/pink.

It won’t be the last sunset of the year but I honestly can’t believe summer is already over. With the world’s current state of affairs, the year is moving by so quick. Pretty soon, 2021 will be upon us.
