Autumn Scenes at Evergreen Brickworks in Toronto on October 31st, 2021.

Evergreen Brickworks is hands down one of my favourite places to visit during autumn. Our first visit of the autumn season was on Halloween day. We were here on Halloween of last year as well. While I was able to capture some gorgeous scenes both times, it was interesting to see the difference. The leaves were a lot farther along in their transformations last year, for sure. We only visited on Halloween this year since any time before then, the leaves were still green. Last year, Halloween was our second visit of the season and many of the trees were looking a little bare by that point.

We climbed up the steep hill here for the first time and the view from up top was so beautiful. I’ve never gotten photos like that before and I’m so happy I was able to see that view with my own eyes. As much as I love the other seasons, autumn is my favourite to photograph. Which is ironic as I despise the shorter days and the sunsets that occur earlier and earlier during this time.

Vibrant Sunset on June 21st, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

The first sunset of summer! We were definitely blessed by Mother Nature on this evening. The clouds in the afternoon looked wispy and hazy and I had a strong hunch we would be getting an intense sunset. And let me say, I really love it when I’m right!

One of my favourite things is just seeing the sky transform and change during sunsets like these. The sky changes from yellow to orange to red to pink and purple. I’m always snapping away, taking a million photos and trying to balance that out with trying to enjoy the spectacle before me.

I can only hope we have a bunch more of sunsets like these ahead of us!

Sunset on March 18th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

With some sunsets, you blink and you miss the whole thing. With others, they keep going on and on, their colours changing every few moments. Both are beautiful in their own right but with summer approaching, I really can’t wait for those vivid sunsets that make you thankful for being able to exist in that moment. This spring sunset feels almost like a sneak peak!

Frozen Toronto on February 10th, 2021.

Digital, 2021.

Born and raised in Toronto and somehow, I’ve never seen the lake frozen over. Granted it’s only frozen near the harbour and the ice is nowhere near thick enough to skate on (despite what some people are doing on Instagram…), but it’s still such a beautiful sight. I don’t even know what I was expecting to see when I went to visit Polson Pier in person but I was still blown away. When we visited, it was only my mom and I. It was such a nice day, and we were able to enjoy some sunlight and nature while enjoying the views of the city. She also enjoyed throwing some chunks of ice overboard. I almost wish I could visit every day just to soak in the sights before it inevitably all melts.

We visited Cherry Beach after and the whole beach was frozen over! Instead of sand, we were met with very slippery ice and huge chunks of it. Honestly, us Torontonians are so lucky to have places like these in our own backyard.
